Dress Up with a Bang: Embracing Colorful Ties, Stylish Watches, and Dapper Hats for Men!

This is a coup!

Ok, maybe that was a little bit extreme. But I have taken over the website for the next few days in an attempt to get my fellow men up to speed.

You see, we men, for the most part, have a pretty boring life when it comes to dressing up. It's usually a black, grey, or blue suit. A black or brown belt. And if you're following the rules of fashion then matching black or brown shoes. This is pretty boring to say the least.

Our better counterparts get to wear fun colorful dresses, or fun colorful shoes (and even when they're plain and black, they usually have a sexy red bottom but that's a talk for another day). Women get a purse or a handbag, us men get a wallet that nobody sees. They get earrings, well let's just say most of us don't have earrings and if we do they're simple and subdued when it comes to dressing up.

So at this point, you're either saying "Who cares?" or "Why is this important?" And here's your answer: when we dress up, it's usually for a special event. A wedding, a dinner, an anniversary, the opera, a graduation, whatever it may be it's usually a detour from our everyday lives. So I say we have some fun with it and let loose.

Gentlemen, we have options! Let's start with the obvious, the necktie. Go big, bold, and have fun. Tone down the undershirt to a plain white button-up and let your tie pop! Add in a fun pocket square that plays off the tie for an added pop! Feeling even more alive? Opt for the bow tie. I guarantee the compliments will be flowing like champagne.

How about your watch? Are you wearing your everyday G-shock or other cheap watch that you just throw on without even checking if the time is right? We have two options here depending on your budget. First, is to get a nice dress watch, who knows, you might become a watch guy once you buy your first.

The second option is much cheaper. Believe it or not, you don't need to take 99% of watches to a watchmaker to change the strap. You just need a special tool called a spring bar tool which will run you under $10 and a nice new leather strap which you can get for under $20. A few minutes of patience later and your watch will look brand new and give you that new watch feeling. The best part is that strap options are unlimited so think of your watch as a blank canvas.

How about a hat? If you're going to a daytime event, this is the perfect opportunity to tie the look together with a fedora or a scally cap. For my fellow men who are worried that their hair is thinning, let's protect that head at all costs!

Did I tease you enough for the upcoming few posts? I sure hope I did and I hope you stay tuned because it's time we men take back the fun in dressing up.
